My iPhone apps.
So I’ve been seeing a lot of people asking about iPhone apps and what different people use from day to day. I thought it would be appropriate to show off what apps I use and highlight a few of my ultimate favourites.

This isn’t very interesting. It’s just the default applications that come with the iPhone, with the app store and iTunes store moved to the next page. I always keep a free bar at the bottom, I personally think it looks much better than a whole screen full of apps and it’s easier to navigate without hitting an app by accident.

Here’s where it gets interesting. Here are the iTunes and App Store along with contacts.
Then we have Pro RSS, which is a stunning application for keeping up to date with your RSS feeds. It imports from many different services including NetNewsWire (which is nice)
Convertbot is an amazingly simple, but polished application that lets you convert loads of currencies, dates, times, values and so much more. On sale now I believe.
Then we have FStream - the application that saves me on the way to school. The iPhone not having a built in FM tuner, I rely on this application to get me my daily fix of radio 1 in the mornings walking to school.
Birdhouse is making my twitter feed better. It’s a drafts application for twitter, that lets me keep all my draft tweets that are not quite finished, or I want to add to later. Really nice.
Things is amazing. It lets me get things done, with ease. Syncing with the Mac version, Things for iPhone is always up to date, just launch the application, and it’s automatically updated with the latest to-do’s in your life. Expensive but amazing.
AIM, Skype, Facebook, Tweetie. I’ve got these all into one section. They’re my social networks that I use the most. AIM, Skype, Facebook, Twitter. Simple.

This is the page that I use the least, but the applications still mean something to me.
National Rail is a lifesaver for whenever I get the train anywhere. Showing my up-to-the minute train schedules and where the trains are, I’d be stuck without it. Although, they stopped MyRailLite, which was free, this is £5.99 with little extra features.
London Tube is a comparison application to National Rail, seeing as when I travel on the train, I’m most likely to be heading to London. Within 3 taps I can see where we are, what tubes to get and where to get them. Genius.
Voice Memos - new application on iPhone 3.0. Hardly ever use it, in fact, I wish I could get rid of it.
Tris - Tetris application. Nice and simple, now deleted off the app store.
Koi pond is just a cool tech demo of the iPhone, tapping around the pond makes the water react just like normal water would. Graphics are amazing, for a fun application, highly recommended.
Rolando - A game I thought I’d play loads, but never do. Still it was £5.99 (I think) so I’m not deleting it yet. Very much like Loco Roco.
FlightControl - surely you’ve all heard of this, but it’s such an addictive game, deserves your buy, 59p, on sale.
Airport Mania - Did I say I liked planes? Well, I do so this is a must for me.
Shazam - for finding that song that’s playing wherever you have a connection to the internet (everywhere in Bishop’s Stortford to be honest) Very useful, not used much though.
BrightKite - If I’m going somewhere interesting, my twitter feed needs to know, so BriteKite lets people see where I am, contact me if I’m within a certain distance to see if I want to meet up or whatever. Really handy for letting people know where you are, quickly.
Flixster - A movies application that’s really great for rating upcoming movies, ones you’ve seen or that have just come out to DVD. Also fantastic for seeing cinema times and when films are coming out. Joining in on the facebook connect platform, I can see when my facebook friends rate, want to see or have seen a movie. It’s amazing.
Finally SpawnLite - A simple, fun interactive tech demo, nothing much really. Check it out in the app store if you want to know more, it’s hard to explain.
